Employees will perform inspections of New Construction residential homes (1-4 units or multi-family projects) under a contract for statewide utility/PA administered energy efficiency program(s). Inspections will be conducted randomly to ensure that pre-established installation, quality and customer service standards are met by program contractors. These inspections will be performed on work completed under the EnergyStar New Construction Program. The inspection process will include visual inspections conducted during the audit/installation process, as well as post installation visits. The inspection process may include the use of blower doors, duct blasters, and/or infrared cameras. Inspectors will be verifying that equipment was installed properly, that all cost-effective opportunities for energy efficient installations were addressed and that customer interface and education protocols were followed.
All equipment needed for the job will be provided by the company. QA/QC Inspectors will be required to provide their own transportation for this position, and the company will reimburse Inspectors for mileage at normal rates. Extensive statewide travel is possible.
All Inspectors working on the new construction program will be required to be Certified HERS Raters and must maintain their credentials, and be in good standing with RESNET.
